Organizing\u00a0is the process of bringing together the right resources for any project.\u00a0 The purpose of organization is to establish formal system of roles that team members can follow so that they work together to achieve the enterprise objectives.\u00a0 This function follows planning according to management gurus.\u00a0 It is the arrangement of human, physical and financial resources, for the right amount of time in order to achieve desired results per the project plan.<\/p>\n

The role of Project managers cannot be undermined in in organizing and structuring a project.\u00a0 According to Chester Barnard<\/em>, \u201cOrganizing is a function by which the concern is able to define the role positions, the jobs related and the co-ordination between authority and responsibility.\u00a0\u00a0 Hence, a Project Manager must be able to achieve effective integration of all resources and functions by considering the interests of the client, project team members, functional managers, support personnel, and other external stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The design of individual jobs within the organization is part of Organizing.\u00a0 There are enterprises choose to organize their projects by departments, with separate projects and project teams for sales, IT, operations,\u00a0marketing<\/a>, customer support, etc.\u00a0 Others choose to use projects for organizing by specific business project types, such as budgeting, product roadmap, advertising campaigns, customer referrals, etc.\u00a0 Once choosing the type of project structure, this is a good time to bring up important project related information.<\/p>\n

All activities which are to be performed as part of project needs to be listed out in the first stage.\u00a0 Thereafter, the project manager needs to combine and group similar and related activities into units or department.\u00a0 The respective teams need to be informed about their responsibilities.\u00a0 The authority and\u00a0relationships are to be established among various groups to enable smooth interaction toward the achievement of the organizational goal, and need to be communicated.<\/p>\n
